Class – Lower A1

Text je dobrý, ale posledné dve vety si trochu odporujú: na začiatku hovoríš, že už absolvovali prvú časť A1, potom že kurz ich pripraví na „second half of A1“, a napokon že začínajú približne od Lesson 4. Pri Krížom-krážom by som to radšej naviazala na konkrétny bod kurikula a nehovorila „first/second half“, ak to nie je presne polovica.

Tiež by som text mierne skrátila, aby pôsobil viac ako webový description a menej ako vysvetlenie metodiky. Navrhla by som toto:

False Beginner Slovak Course

This course is designed for students who have already covered the basics of A1 Slovak and are ready to continue building their language skills step by step. It is ideal for learners who already have some knowledge of Slovak and do not need to start from the very beginning.

Our courses follow the learning sequence of the Krížom-krážom curriculum, developed by Comenius University in Bratislava. The textbook series is structured according to CEFR language levels, with each book covering the grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills expected at a specific level.

We use this structure as a roadmap to ensure that all important topics are covered in a logical order. However, we do not teach directly from the textbook. Our teachers prepare original lessons, exercises, speaking activities, and additional materials tailored to the needs and progress of each group.

Instead of working with a traditional textbook, students use a shared online document throughout the course. It contains everything covered in class—including grammar explanations, vocabulary, examples, exercises, homework, and useful notes—creating a personalised study guide that grows with every lesson. All course materials are kept in one place and remain available for revision.

Lessons focus strongly on practical communication and speaking, while gradually developing vocabulary, grammar, listening, and comprehension. The aim is not only to understand how Slovak works, but to become more confident using it in everyday situations.

Students continue from approximately Lesson 4 of the A1 curriculum, building on their existing knowledge and progressing systematically towards completion of the A1 level.
