A2 Slovak course level

This course is designed for students who have progressed through most of the A2 level and are ready to strengthen their skills and work towards completing A2.

At this stage, you will learn to communicate more independently and naturally
in a wider range of everyday situations. You will practise longer
conversations, talk about experiences and plans, describe situations,
explain your ideas and express opinions with greater confidence.

You will continue developing and consolidating A2 grammar, cases and verb structures, while working on more complex sentences and using previously learned grammar more accurately in conversation.

Lessons focus on speaking and practical use of Slovak, with grammar and vocabulary introduced in context and actively practised during class.

We use our own teaching materials, exercises and speaking activities.
Everything covered during your lessons – grammar explanations,
vocabulary, examples, exercises, notes and homework – is collected in a shared online document that remains available throughout the course.

You will study in a mini-group of 3–6 students, ensuring plenty of speaking time and an interactive learning environment.

The course includes a final review and progress feedback session, where you will review key material and receive individual feedback from your teacher on your progress and recommended next steps.

Learning a language is a journey, not a single course.

This Upper A2 course is the final stage of the A2 level, building on the grammar, vocabulary and communication skills developed in the previous A2 courses.

Our courses follow a structured CEFR learning sequence based on the Krížom-krážom curriculum developed by Comenius University in Bratislava. We use it as a roadmap to ensure that all important topics are covered in a logical order.

One Slovak Friends course typically covers approximately 3–4 learning units, depending on the course format, frequency and pace of the group.

Your learning journey may look like this:

    Full Beginner → Lower A1 → Mid A1 → Upper A1 → Start A2 → Lower A2 → Mid A2 → Upper A2 → Start B1 → …

By the end of this stage, you will be working towards completing the A2 level and preparing to progress to B1. The exact point at which A2 is completed may vary slightly depending on the previous progress and pace of the group.

When your course ends, your group can continue from exactly where you finished, moving into the next stage without starting again.

If you need to reach a particular CEFR level by a specific date – for example, for an exam, work or residency requirements – a standard course once or twice a week may not be intensive enough. Contact us and we can recommend a more intensive study option.
