Online – Full Beginners

This course is designed for complete beginners who speak a Slavic language – no previous knowledge of Slovak is required.

We start from zero, but the pace and teaching approach are adapted to Slavic speakers. Because Slovak shares many similarities with Ukrainian and other Slavic languages, there is no need to spend as much time on concepts that students can understand intuitively.

Your teacher has extensive experience teaching Slavic and Ukrainian speakers and understands the key differences between Slovak and related languages. This allows us to focus more on the areas where mistakes and confusion typically occur, while progressing faster through what is already familiar.

We use our own teaching materials, exercises and speaking activities rather than following a traditional textbook in class. Everything covered during your lessons – grammar explanations, vocabulary, examples, exercises, notes and homework – is collected in a shared online document that remains available throughout the course.

You will study in a mini-group of 3–6 students, ensuring plenty of speaking time and an interactive atmosphere.

By the end of the course, you will have built the first foundations of Slovak and will be ready to continue seamlessly with the next A1 course for Slavic speakers.

The course includes a final review and progress feedback session. During the last class, you will review key material and receive individual feedback from your teacher on your progress, strengths, areas to improve and recommended next steps.
